SYNOPSIS: A minimally invasive treatment for long bone fractures. The surgeon creates a surgical field to the bone marrow canal of the broken long bone; the interlocking male and female implants having expandable meshes are inserted into the bone marrow canal; a line and pneumatic balloons are positioned inside the male and female implants;
the balloons are inflated to expand the meshes to contact the bone marrow canal; the line and the implants assist in the alignment the broken bone sections and pulls the broken bone sections together; after the broken bone sections are aligned and the male and female implants are interlocked, the balloons are deflated and removed from the surgical field and the surgical field is closed.
No current FDA approval – Inventor has experience with FDA and thinks that this invention should receive a 510K exemption.
